UF ‘s bicycle programs and UPD encourage all cyclists to ride safely. Using a helmet while riding at all times provides protection in the event of a crash. Using front (white) and rear (red) lights makes cyclists more visible to other road users and is required by Florida law for riding between dusk and dawn.
UF students, faculty and staff who need a helmet or a light set can receive them for free by visiting UF’s Public Safety Office at 1521 Museum Rd. on campus. Simply go to the front desk and request a helmet and/or light set and a member of the Public Safety team will assist you.
We also recommend that you register your bicycle with UPD.
