Social Distancing

Observing social distancing while using the bus can help reduce transmission of COVID-19. Capacity of RTS buses has been reduced to 20% to facilitate keeping a safer distance while riding. Remember observe social distancing guidelines while boarding and exiting the bus as well.

Wear A Mask

Wearing a mask is now mandatory on all RTS buses to help reduce transmission of COVID-19. All RTS buses are also equipped with free masks for those who may not have one.

Keep It Clean

RTS buses are frequently cleaned to reduce transmission of COVID-19, but it is important to take personal steps to help as well. Wash your hands with soap and water before your trip and avoid touching surfaces on the bus as much as possible. You may also use an alcohol based hand sanitizer between hand washings to help reduce transmission of COVID-19.

Be Choosy

Be choosy and don’t risk close interactions with those are engaging in risky behavior like not wearing a mask in social situations or not observing social distancing. If you plan to ride with a friend or partner, make sure you discuss safe practices for COVID-19 transmission reduction and establish guidelines for interaction you are both comfortable with.

Touch Less

COVID-19 can be passed to others by touching infected surfaces. Be mindful of surfaces you touch before, during and after your commute. Regular sanitization of surfaces in the carpooling vehicle can also help reduce the spread of the virus.

Carefully Monitor

Reducing the spread of COVID-19 is a personal responsibility that is especially important in close contact situations like a bus. It is important to carefully monitor for any symptoms of COVID-19 and to avoid others if you have been exposed to someone who has COVID-19 or if you have suspect symptoms.
